I think these apps are most useful when I’m in a strange city – “Okay, here I am in Austin, anything good tonight?” – but that seems like a pretty limited demographic.

The only real reason I see to use either of them is if you’re one who frequently parties in the city and are wondering what to do next. With Bandloop, it’s easy to see, “Oh, how did I not notice that The Heartless Bastards are playing in two hours 4 blocks from me? Let’s do it!” Otherwise, I (probably incorrectly) assume most concertgoers plan things out slightly ahead of time and maybe know where and when they’re going.
